Leak-site listings are claims, not confirmed breaches. ransomware.live entries are victims named by criminal groups on their own leak sites. Some are exaggerated, misattributed or never substantiated. Treat them as an early signal until the organisation or a regulator discloses the incident.
Sector and country are assigned automatically and are approximate. Sector comes from SEC SIC codes, HHS covered-entity types and leak-site tags; country from the filing address or leak-site metadata. Expect misclassifications, and roughly a third of leak-site entries carry no usable sector at all — they sit under "Other / unclassified".
HHS entries are as reported by the covered entity. They are HIPAA breaches affecting 500 or more people that OCR is still investigating; individuals-affected counts are the entity's own initial figure and often change.
